Create an account, then create your first portfolio at /portfolios. Add holdings by entering stock symbols, shares, and cost basis. The platform automatically fetches live market data, syncs dividends, and computes analytics within minutes.
Yes — create unlimited portfolios for different strategies (Retirement, Growth, Income, etc.). Each maintains its own holdings, transactions, benchmark, and performance history. The Dashboard can show individual or combined "All Portfolios" analytics.
During market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET), quotes update every few seconds via WebSocket connections. After hours, data refreshes periodically. Historical data is fetched on demand and cached for performance.
Over 100 indicators across trend (SMA, EMA, MACD, Bollinger, Ichimoku, ADX), momentum (RSI, Stochastic, CCI, Williams %R), volume (OBV, VWAP, A/D Line, Volume Profile), and volatility (ATR, Keltner) categories. Each has a dedicated analysis page.
Safety scores (0-100) combine 6 components: payout ratio (25 pts, GAAP + FCF), FCF coverage (20 pts), growth streak (20 pts, Kings/Aristocrats/Achievers), earnings stability (15 pts), debt levels (10 pts), and red flags (-10 pts). REITs use FFO, ADRs have currency mismatch guards, and preferred stocks use fixed-coupon scoring.
Holdings are classified by asset type: equity, bond ETF/fund (12 sub-types like Treasury, Corporate, High Yield, Muni), preferred stock, balanced fund, and money market. Each type has its own drawdown model. Bond drawdowns use bond-type classification independent of equity beta. 350+ known specific-security drawdowns are built in.
The wash sale rule disallows claiming a tax loss if you buy the same security within 30 days before or after the sale (61-day window). The platform automatically tracks this window and flags positions with wash sale risk when you use tax-loss harvesting.
Yes — Paper Trading at /paper-trading gives you a virtual cash account. Place simulated trades, track P&L, and test strategies risk-free. Use the Trading Journal to record notes and analyze your paper trading performance.
AI Assistant (natural language chat about your portfolio), AI Reports (narrative portfolio analysis with GPT-4), and AI Report Generator (customizable report templates). Data is only sent during requests and not stored.
Go to Settings → Security → Enable 2FA. Scan the QR code with any authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy), enter the verification code, and save your backup codes. 2FA adds a second layer of security beyond your password.
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari (latest versions). JavaScript must be enabled. For the best experience, use a desktop browser at 1280px or wider. The platform also works on mobile with an optimized bottom navigation.
Cost basis uses the average cost method. When you buy more shares, the weighted average updates automatically. Tax lots are tracked separately for tax-loss harvesting, supporting FIFO, LIFO, and specific lot identification.
Five providers: Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) for fundamentals and quotes, Alpha Vantage for historical data, Polygon.io for real-time quotes, Finnhub for WebSocket streaming and earnings, and Yahoo Finance for supplementary dividend/quote data.
13 models on a single page: DCF, Comparable Company Analysis, Dividend Discount Model, Graham Number, Peter Lynch Fair Value, EV/EBITDA, Price/Sales, Price/Book, PEG ratio, and more. Each shows fair value vs current price with upside/downside %.
3-tier waterfall: Yahoo Finance (primary) → FMP (secondary) → Alpha Vantage (tertiary). Data syncs proactively on startup, import, and nightly. Record dates are backfilled from the database. Safety scores are pre-computed nightly and cached in Memory (30min) → Database (24h) → Fresh API.
Four: GBM (classic log-normal), Student-t (fat tails for crash modeling), GARCH (time-varying volatility clusters), and Regime-Switching (bull/bear states with transition probabilities). Compare all four side by side. Simulations run server-side for speed.
Capital gains/losses summary (short-term vs long-term), dividend income reports (qualified vs ordinary), tax lot details with FIFO/LIFO/specific lot, year-end planning checklist, and tax opportunity identification. All exportable to PDF or Excel.
Three screeners: Stock Screener (fundamental + technical criteria with pre-built screens), Market Scanner (real-time technical scans), and Momentum Screener (price momentum signals). Plus ETF Analyzer and Mutual Fund screener.
Yes — every analytics page includes export buttons. PDFs use professional formatting with the browser print engine. Excel exports use xlsx-js-style for multi-sheet workbooks with cell styling, proper data types, and auto-sized columns.
Yes — AES-256 encryption, JWT authentication with expiration, rate limiting, Prisma ORM (prevents SQL injection), CORS restrictions, Helmet.js security headers, and daily backups. All portfolio data is user-scoped and inaccessible to other accounts.
Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to open the Command Palette. Type any page name, stock symbol, or action to navigate instantly. You can also use the search bar in the top navigation or press S to open stock search.
Yes — import via CSV at /import. The import wizard auto-maps columns and validates symbols. After import, the system fetches current prices, syncs dividends, and computes analytics automatically.
Three calendars: Economic Calendar (GDP, CPI, Fed decisions, employment), Earnings Calendar (earnings dates, estimates, beat/miss history), and Dividend Calendar (ex-dates, payment dates, amounts). Plus IPO Tracker and SPAC Tracker.
The 5-tab analytics system covers: Performance (attribution, drawdown, rolling stats), Risk (VaR, factor decomposition, correlation), Allocation (sector, asset class, geographic), Income (dividend summary, upcoming payments), and Factor (Fama-French factor exposures, style box).
Dividend King: 50+ consecutive years of increases (e.g., JNJ 63 years). Aristocrat: S&P 500 member with 25+ years. Achiever: 10+ years. The platform tracks these for 190+ stocks and shows badges on fundamental analysis and safety pages.
Up to 20 years. Periods: 1Y, 3Y, 5Y, 10Y, 20Y. Use preset strategies (60/40, All Equity, Conservative, Growth, All Weather) or your actual portfolio holdings. Results include cumulative return chart, drawdown chart, monthly heatmap, and key metrics.
Client Management at /clients is designed for wealth managers. It lets you manage multiple client portfolios, filter all analytics by client, generate per-client reports, and switch between client views using the client selector in the top navigation bar.
INDYXQUANT Pro has 220+ pages covering: portfolio management, real-time market data, technical analysis (100+ indicators), fundamental analysis (13 valuation models), dividend intelligence, risk management (Monte Carlo, stress testing, VaR), tax optimization, AI-powered analytics, and more.
Yes. US-listed stocks, ADRs, preferred stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, CEFs, and crypto are all supported. Special handling exists for ADR currency mismatches, preferred stock fixed-coupon scoring, REIT FFO-based payout ratios, and bond ETF/fund classification.
Three peer tools: Peer Comparison (side-by-side P/E, ROE, margins), Peer Rankings (composite ranking across 5 categories with dynamic scoring), and Peer Benchmarking (percentile scorecard with strengths/weaknesses analysis). Each uses 8 API calls per company.
